Day 2 - Arrive to IRELAND!

We flew from London to Cork and drove to Old Head today.

It was an uneventful flight after meeting our friends in Heathrow.  Unfortunately our friends' luggage did not arrive to Cork, but we forged ahead anyway, got to Old Head, grabbed lunch and hit the links.

Walking into Old Head:

Lunch was their famous Guinness stew:

Freezing and unbelievably windy but fun to be here with our friends:

“Razor’s Edge” is one of the most photographed golf holes in Ireland. Ahead of you -  the Old Head Lighthouse standing as backdrop, and to the left, the waves of the Atlantic crashing. No pressure here.

I played 9 holes while the others went on to play 18 in 50 mph winds, 56 degrees with a real feel of 46 degrees.  Could've been worse, as the prediction was rain and we didn't see a drop.  But it was challenging to say the least.  Caddies were great, and we had a ball though.

Had a fabulous dinner at Old Head, then drove back to Kinsale and checked into our hotel.  We stayed up a bit more laughing before crashing.

One more day and night in Kinsale before we had to Hogs Head via helicopter.

Sante!
